Eskdale League - April 26

Away vs. Grosmont
Lost by 9 wickets

An all round rusty performance from Castleton led to an easy win for Grosmont in the opening game of the season. Castleton batted first after losing the toss, and runs were sparse on a slow pitch due to the rain that had fallen leading up to the game. Castleton lost wickets at regular intervals before Dave Heldt was bowled off the last ball of the innings with 104 on the board. James O'Donnell held the innings together with a gritty 36no.

Grosmont started fairly slowly, and lost an early wicket when Richard Thompson took his first wicket of the season. Yet they didn't lose another as they slowly but surely made their way to the target of 105, punctuated by a poor fielding display from Castleton.

Castleton 104 all out Grosmont 105-1 32 overs

MoM - James O'Donnell - gritty 36 saved Castleton from embarassment
