Evening League - May 7

Away vs. Glaisdale
Lost by 3 wickets

Castleton faced Glaisdale in their opening match of their evening league campaign after their match the week before was rained off. Castleton decided to bat to avoid chasing under darkening skies.
Shaun Dowson and Tom Hepburn got off to a especially poor start, with only 12 runs being scored off the first 7 overs. They both lost their wicket and Castleton managed a predominantly poor effort, only making 74 off their 20 overs, with Matthew Williams hauling them above 70 with a 6 off the last ball of the innings.
Glaisdale made better progress at the start, yet they kept losing their wickets to tight spells of bowling from Richard Thompson, who picked up 4 wickets, Tom Hepburn and Andrew Watson. Yet Glaisdale made it home with 7 wickets down off the first ball of the final over.

Castleton 74-8 20 overs Glaisdale 75-7 19 overs

MoM – Richard Thompson – took 4 wickets in what was fine spell of full and straight bowling.
