Eskdale League - May 3

Away vs. Lealholm
Won by 8 wickets

Castleton produced a superb performance to record their first win of the season against a lacklustre Lealholm side. Captain Lee Nesfield won the toss and chose to field, hoping to gain early breakthroughs on a spongy surface. He got exactly that when Richard Thompson and Paul Lawton decimated the top order as Lealholm collapsed to 2-3 off 5 overs. Richard Thompson finished with 3 wickets and Paul Lawton bowled right throungh to claim 6 wickets. Tom Hepburn captured the other as Lealholm were skittled for a paltry 44ao.

Castleton's chase was a simple affair that contained some big 6's from Shaun Dowson and Paul Melling, and they made it for the loss of 2 wickets in 9 overs.

Lealholm 44ao 24 overs Castleton 45-2 9 overs

MoM - Paul Lawton - grabbed a superb 6 wickets opening the bowling
